AFCON 2023: New boy, Yusuf to make Super Eagles debut against Equatorial Guinea

Royal Antwerp midfielder Alhassan Yusuf is scheduled to make his competitive Super Eagles debut against Equatorial Guinea on Sunday (today).

Yusuf replaced the injured Wilfred Ndidi in Nigeria’s roster for the competition.

According to camp insiders, the 23-year-old impressed during training and is poised to start against Nzalang Nacional.

The skilled midfielder played for 83 minutes in the Super Eagles’ friendly loss to Guinea on Monday.

He is expected to serve as Frank Onyeka’s backup in midfield.

Everton star Alex Iwobi will take the number ten position.

Kanyidaily recalls that Super Eagles were among favourites to win 2023 AFCON as confirmed by Equatorial Guinea boss.
