AFCON 2023: Super Eagles out to end Equatorial Guinea’s 10-game unbeaten streak

Nigeria’s Super Eagles will attempt to halt Equatorial Guinea’s impressive 10-game unbeaten streak when they face off on Sunday (today) at the Alassanne Quattara Stadium in Ebimpe, Abidjan.

The Nzalang Nacional last lost against the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon on September 3, 2022, by a score of 2-0.

Since then, Juan Micha’s has gone unbeaten, with five wins and five draws.

Today’s match will be the first between the two teams in the AFCON finals.

They have met twice before, with the Super Eagles winning both times.

While the Super Eagles were ousted by Tunisia’s Carthage Eagles in the Round of 16 two years ago in Cameroon, the Nzalang Nacional advanced to the quarter-finals before losing to eventual winners Senegal’s Terangha Lions.

Kanyidaily recalls that Super Eagles faced striker crisis ahead of Equatorial Guinea clash.
