On Tuesday, Davido declared his intention to donate the money through the David Adeleke Foundation, emphasizing that this act is a part of his annual commitment to the country.
Despite the benevolent announcement, a certain individual, referred to as Seun Dudu on Twitter, dismissed the sincerity of Davido’s donation, labeling it as “eye service.”
The Twitter user likened the artist to a character from the movie. He wrote: “This guy reminds me of that movie ‘She must be obeyed. Oju Aiye sha.”
Unfazed by the criticism, Davido responded on Wednesday by quoting the critic’s post and sharing a screenshot as evidence of the transaction.
The displayed account balance further validated the singer’s commitment, showing a total of N306,420,973.
“Foundation account credited… More details to follow soon,” Davido assured, reinforcing the authenticity of his philanthropic contribution.
This comes seven months after Davido donated N237 million to support the less privileged in 424 orphanages across the country.
