The Osun Sector Command of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) reported that the accident took place on Tuesday evening
Agnes Ogungbemi, the spokesperson for the Osun FRSC, disclosed in the First Information Report (FIR) released on Wednesday that another individual, an adult male, suffered injuries of varying severity during the head-on collision
The report also disclosed that the accident was a result of traffic violations and speeding.
Two vehicles were involved in the crash, “a private car, black colored Lexus model ES350 with registration number: SMK17JK belonging to one Mr Abdullah and a green coloured commercial DAF truck model 85.340 with registration number: ZUR36XB
“The injured victim was taken to Osun State University Teaching Hospital, Osogbo before the arrival of the team while the dead victims were conveyed to the same hospital by the team.
“The two vehicles involved were towed by personnel of the Nigeria Police, Ikirun Division.”
Sector Commander Henry Benamaisia cautioned motorists to refrain from excessive speeding and violating traffic routes.
