ASP Mahid Abubakar, the Command’s Public Relations Officer, made this revelation while presenting the suspects to the media in Gombe.
The suspects, Yayaji Muhammad (24 years) and Muhammad Barau (20 years) were arrested after a complaint was lodged by the victim’s father, Malam Jauro.
“On Feb. 8, 2024, about 2.00 pm, a complaint was received via Malam Jauro at Bajoga Division that on Feb. 7, about 2.10 pm.
“The above-mentioned suspects conspired among themselves, attacked and threatened his daughter.
“The suspects with another force had carnal knowledge of the 13-year-old girl of the same address,” said Abubakar
He stated that 20 other suspects had been arrested for various offenses, including criminal conspiracy, culpable homicide, armed robbery, possession of suspected hard drugs, impersonation, and possession of substances believed to be marijuana.
He said that among the items recovered from the suspects were three Bajaj motorcycles, 88 wraps of dry leaves suspected to be marijuana, 110 tablets of suspected hard drugs, and others.
Abubakar reaffirmed the command’s dedication to fighting crime and safeguarding the welfare of state residents.
He mentioned that the suspects would be arraigned once the investigation is completed.
“We urge the public to continue to provide vital information to aid the fight against crime,” he said
