In a preview of an upcoming episode of the Honest Bunch podcast, Solidstar revealed that he was first introduced to “ice,” also known as crystal methamphetamine, back in 2021.
The singer explained the negative impact it had on him, recounting how he would experience delusions, feeling like royalty and even hearing voices instructing him not to pay for goods or services.
He recounted a harrowing incident during the depths of his addiction, where he embarked on a seven-hour trek on foot from Awoyaya in Ibeju Lekki to the Oriental Hotel in Victoria Island, Lagos.
Solid Star said, “A lot of things happened to me. A couple of young boys introduced me to this substance called ice. This was three years back. The thing really affected me a lot.
“Sometimes this substance will tell me you are king, you are this, you are that, make I no dey pay for stuffs. Can you imagine say I waka from Awoyaya to Oriental Hotel.”
KanyiDaily recalls that Solid Star recently advised those struggling with the habit to either stop or reduce it by smoking Igbo (marijuana) instead.
