KanyiDaily recalls that on February 9, 2022, Oxlade was enmeshed in a sεx tape scandal after he was seen in a video giving hot stokes to a young lady while recording their hot sεx session.
In an interview with journalist Joey Akan, Oxlade acknowledged the authenticity of the private videos and revealed that he was being extorted over them.
The music star expressed relief at no longer having to endure the burden of paying off the blackmailers.
He shared how the scandal took a toll on his family, particularly his grandmother, who expressed distress over the situation, asking if he intended to kill her.
Oxlade admitted that the ordeal led him into a dark period, prompting him to seek rehabilitation in the United Kingdom.
The singer noted that the release of multiple videos made it clear to him that there was an agenda against him.
Reflecting on the lessons learned from the experience, Oxlade emphasized the betrayal he felt from some individuals within his circle who were apprehensive about his progress.
He lamented the devastating impact on his music career, revealing the loss of endorsement deals totaling up to 400 million Naira.
The singer said, “This is the first time I am talking about it ’cause I keep skipping that question. It gave me peace of mind cause I was getting blackmailed for too long.
“These contents have existed with me before they broke out. I paid the blackmail money. When it came out I said ‘finally’.
“The sad effect was hearing my grandma cry. It affected my family and my mental health. I lost all my endorsement deals.
“When you get bashed, your market value, price tag, and every affiliation you get tends to depart from you. I lost all my endorsement; up to 400 million”
KanyiDaily recalls that Lagos State High Court awarded N5million damages against Oxlade over his leaked sεx tape with a lady named John Blessing.
