In a post shared on her Twitter page, Toke Makinwa expressed concerns about people becoming overly fixated on expecting specific responses from God.
The media personality questioned the existence of so much pain in the world and pondered the reasons behind the suffering of good people.
She pointed out that, despite prayer requests, people still experience hurt and death, emphasizing that life unfolds according to its predestined programming.
Expressing her frustration with the unpredictable nature of life, Toke disclosed that she woke up one day and decided to tear up all her prayer requests.
She emphasized that tragedy does not discriminate against those considered God’s enemies, and she acknowledged that God owes humanity nothing.
Toke Makinwa emphasized that people who face misfortune are also loved by God, pray, and believe, and that life has its own programmed course.
She shared her perspective on prayer, suggesting that it is more for the benefit of individuals than a means to dictate divine intervention.
“I know God is real but I struggle to understand why there is so much pain in the world, why good people die, why death has to be so excruciating, why does it seem like when you’re about to enjoy life, something goes wrong? Why do kids/young people die? Why were they born sef?”
“Today I woke up and tore up all my prayer requests, cos the people that have tragedy befall them are not God’s enemies. I have realized he owes us nothing. Good and bad happens to all. Just do your own bit and relax, life has already been programmed to happen how it will. ❤️”.
“I think prayer is more for us than anything else. I don’t have all the answers but I know after all the pain , heaven better be sure cos I will throw hands 😂😂😂.”
“Pls don’t misquote my tweet, I’m not saying God doesn’t change things or prayer isn’t good, I tore up my prayer requests cos we are often obsessed with what we want God to do next that we do not live in the moment good/bad which could possibly be our last.”
“The people who misfortune happen to also are loved by God. They also pray, they also believe too. Life will happen as it’s been programmed to happen,” she wrote.
KanyiDaily recalls that Toke Makinwa recently claimed she no longer considers cheating as a deal breaker in a relationship.
