Lagos Government Destroys Illegal Structures In Jakande Estate, Maiyegun, Lekki [Video]

The Lagos State Government has destroyed illegal structures and shanties in the vicinity of Jakande Estate and Maiyegun within the Lekki/Ajah area.

Tokunbo Wahab, the Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, shared videos on his Twitter page n Monday, confirming the ongoing efforts.

He wrote , “Lagos State Government this morning began the removal of all illegal structures and shanties built around Jakande Estate, and Maiyegun, Lekki.

“This enforcement is geared towards reclaiming the coastal road alignment for the Lagos – Calabar Highway project of the Federal Government, and the urban regeneration of the area.”

Wahab had earlier revealed on Sunday that the action followed relocation notices issued to residents of the shanties.
