Dana Air Flight With 83 Passengers Crash Lands In Lagos

An aircraft operated by Dana Air crash landed at the Muritala Mohammed International Airport, Lagos.

The Dana Airline bearing registration number 5NBKI and carrying  83 passengers, experienced a runway incursion during its landing at the Lagos airport, in the early hours of today.

In a statement on Tuesday, Dana Air onfirmed that the aircraft, which was en route from Abuja to Lagos, encountered a runway issue upon landing.

The airline said all passengers on board disembarked safely without injuries or panic as the crew handled the situation with utmost professionalism.

Dana Air ssid the incidence has been reported to the Accident Investigation Bureau (AIB) and the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), while the aircraft involved has been grounded.

It reiterated its commitment to prioritizing passenger safety and pledged full cooperation with relevant authorities to thoroughly investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.

The statement reads, “Dana Air regrets to inform the public of a runway incursion involving one of our aircraft, registration number 5N BKI, which was flying from Abuja to Lagos, on Tuesday 23rd April, 2024.

“We are relieved to confirm that all 83 passengers and crew onboard the flight disembarked safely without injuries or scare as the crew handled the situation with utmost professionalism.

“We have also updated the AIB and NCAA on the incident and the aircraft involved has been grounded by our maintenance team for further investigation.

“We wish to thank the airport authorities, our crew for their very swift response in ensuring the safe disembarkation of all passengers following the incident and our sincere apologies and appreciation to the passengers on the affected flight for their patience and understanding.

“We wish to reassure our passengers that their safety will always be our top priority, and we are cooperating fully with the relevant authorities to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.”

KanyiDaily had also reported how a private aircraft carrying Nigeria’s Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, and his team, crash-landed in Ibadan, Oyo State.
