FG Declares Wednesday As Public Holiday To Celebrate Workers’ Day

The Federal Government has declared Wednesday as a public holiday in honor of the Workers’ Day celebration.

The Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo announced this public holiday in a statement released on Tuesday.

In his statement, the minister emphasized the importance of excellence, efficiency, and equity across all labor sectors.

He reiterated President Bola Tinubu’s administration’s dedication to cultivating a workplace culture that fosters innovation, productivity, and inclusivity.

“In alignment with this year’s theme, which focuses on ensuring safety and health at work in a changing climate, I wish to state that the Federal Government remains steadfast in its resolve to prioritise the safety and well-being of all citizens,” the statement reads.

Let me reaffirm Mr. President’s commitment to providing a conducive environment for work, where every worker can thrive and contribute meaningfully to national development.”

Tinubu urged proactive measures to address the adverse effects of climate change through collaborative efforts in implementing sustainable practices and policies that promote workplace well-being.

He also called on Nigerians to uphold the present administration’s renewed agenda of hope, emphasizing the principles of integrity, diligence, and compassion in building the nation.
