Don Jazzy publicly thanked Wizkid for endorsing Ayra Starr’s new album, “The Year I Turned 21,” which she had shared on social media.
Previously, there had been tension after Wizkid reacted to a post by Ladipoe, another artist signed to Don Jazzy’s Mavin Records, who seemed to mock Wizkid’s claim that “hip hop is dead.”
After a fan pointed out Ladipoe’s post to Wizkid, he responded by referring to Don Jazzy as just an influencer, which led to an uproar on social media.
Celebrities like Mr Macaroni, Nasboi, Doyin, and Tacha criticized Wizkid for disrespecting Don Jazzy.
In response, Don Jazzy unfollowed Wizkid on Instagram.
Despite the fallout, Wizkid endorsed Ayra Starr’s new album on Friday, sharing the album cover and a streaming link, and calling her a “Superstar” with love and eagle emojis.
Don Jazzy reposted Wizkid’s endorsement with a thank you message, signaling that any rift between them has been resolved.
Sharing the album cover and streaming link, Wizkid wrote: “Superstar ❤️🦅,” and Don Jazzy reposted the tweet with the caption; “Thanks Big Wiz 🦅.”
KanyiDaily recalls that Don Jazzy recently revealed why he didn’t sign Wizkid and Davido when they were still emerging artists in the music industry.
