This festival, which has been celebrated for over a decade, brings together Ijebu sons and daughters to honor the Awujale and Paramount Ruler of Ijebuland, Oba Sikiru Adetona, for his strong leadership.
The event features colorful attire worn by various age groups, known as ‘regberegbe’, horse-riding competitions, and a variety of cultural performances.
The festival also promotes teamwork in the socio-economic and political development of the town.
This year’s event is attended by Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun, members of the state executive council, the Awujale of Ijebuland Oba Sikiru Adetona and his wife, Chief Sunny Kuku, business leaders, and tourists, among others.
About 76 different age groups are expected to pay homage to the traditional ruler, showing their loyalty and respect.
Former governor Olusegun Osoba and Senator Otunba Gbenga Daniel, representing the Ogun-East Senatorial district, are also in attendance.
KanyiDaily had reported how an Ogun Masquerade, Danafojura pulled a deadly fire stunt at an event attended by residents of the state at Ojude Oba Festival in 2019.
