“Don’t Release Songs Until After Davido And Chioma’s Wedding” – Do2dtun Warns Artists

Media personality, Do2dtun has issued a warning to Nigerian artists regarding the upcoming wedding of Afrobeats star Davido and Chioma Rowland.

KanyiDaily had recently reported that Davido and Chioma will have their traditional wedding on June 25th at the Eko Hotel in Lagos.

With the wedding less than 24 hours away, Do2dtun advised artists to avoid releasing any new music until the end of the week.

The media personality explained that everyone’s attention will be on the wedding, leaving little room for new songs to gain traction.

Taking to his Instagram page, Do2dtun wrote, “Don’t release your song today, Monday till the end of the week, you know why? People will be UNAVAILABLE to stream it.”

His advice sparked criticism on Twitter. A user named Akpos Jim suggested Do2dtun should also halt his own activities, questioning the significance of Davido’s wedding.

The Twitter user wrote, “Nor do any activity this week, nor host any events. Nothing at all. Let’s all wait after the wedding ? Una dey reason at all? A big artist getting married, so? No one should go about their daily jobs of releasing their songs or what have you?”.

In his response, Do2dtun said the Twitter user’s criticism has no weight, stressing that his advice was based on logic, not emotion.

The media personality urged critics to understand music engagement better, explaining that releasing songs when attention is divided is not strategic.

Shout from now till tomorrow, no one asked you not to, it’s just logic over emotion besides why test your strength when you can test your mind. You sound more like a town crier than a music enthusiast. Read more about music engagements. No be by noise,” he wrote.

Do2dtun further clarified that his point wasn’t about favoring any particular artist but about timing for maximum engagement.

The media personality emphasized that attention spans will be focused on the wedding this week, making it a poor time for new releases.

He also lamented how people fight over celebrities they may never meet, missing the bigger picture of strategic timing and engagement in the music industry.

This isn’t about a fave cos that’s how your likes this k without actually thinking. Tractions work according to what it is fed besides it’s why talents find a good time where attention span is not divided. This week it will. It’s just logic not fickle emotions”.

“It’s so sad. They will fight over people that night never ever meet them till they die. These guys will dine with each other you are here fighting over people making money. I’ll never understand it,” Do2dtun wrote.

KanyiDaily recalls that Davido recently taunted his critics ahead of his upcoming wedding, daring them to show up if they think he is accessibility.
