The 26-year-old defender will be the first signing under new Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca.
Adarabioyo, who spent the last four years at Fulham and played 132 games, attracted interest from Newcastle and Liverpool, but Chelsea secured him on a free transfer.
Adarabioyo is scheduled for a medical today, June 5, 2024, before officially joining Chelsea.
Fulham confirmed his departure alongside Marek Rodak, stating their contracts will expire at the end of this month.
“The Club can confirm that Marek Rodak and Tosin will depart Fulham upon the expiry of their respective contracts at the end of this month,’ a statement on Fulham’s official website read.
Fulham also thanked Tosin Adarabioyo on social media for his contributions over four seasons.
The club wrote, “132 appearances across four seasons. Thank you, Tosin!”
Chelsea has spent heavily on defenders in recent years with mixed results.
Kalidou Koulibaly, signed as Antonio Rudiger’s replacement, lasted just one season before moving to the Saudi Pro League.
Wesley Fofana missed the entire last season due to injury, and young French defenders Axel Disasi and Benoit Badiashile have only shown brief flashes of their potential.
Trevoh Chalobah is likely to leave Chelsea soon, with the club valuing him at around £25 million. Manchester United is reportedly interested in him.
Chelsea also plans to raise funds this summer by selling more academy graduates, including Armando Broja and Ian Maatsen.
KanyiDaily recalls that Chelsea recently agreed to appoint Enzo Maresca as their new manager on a five-year deal, following the departure of Mauricio Pochettino from Stamford Bridge.
