In an interview with The House Chronicles, the fashion designer said she never signed any divorce papers.
Maureen Esisi explained that their separation occurred long before it became public and despite Blossom Chukwujekwu’s new marriage to another woman, they are still technically married.
She said, “My separation happened way before it went public. I am not divorced, technically I am still married. When you say you are divorced it means you signed papers right?”
The influencer criticized her former in-laws over their treatment of her, revealing that they had initially kicked against their separation when she asked Blossom for a divorce.
She said she was surprised when Blossom’s parents supported their son after he said he was done with their marriage.
Maureen denied claims that Blossom avoided a bad situation by leaving her, stating instead that she was the one who avoided trouble.
“All I did was defend him and I wasn’t defending him because I needed to but because regardless of whatever happened, I am never going to stop saying he is a good person.
“I will call his mom and she will give me reasons why we cannot divorce and when he said he was done and they were okay with it.
“People say he dodged a bullet with me, but that’s extreme because if we really want to analyse things in papers I dodged a bullet,” she said.
Maureen Esisi and Blossom Chukwujekwu got married in 2015, but their marriage ended in 2019 due to irreconcilable differences.
KanyiDaily recalls that on May 20, 2022, Blossom Chukwujekwu tied the knot with his new wife, Ehinome Akhuemokhan in Benin, Edo State.
