Sandra Iheuwa Calls Out Police For Illegal Detention And Sexual Assault Of Her Staff

Nigerian businesswoman, Sandra Iheuwa has publicly expressed her frustration and distress over the illegal detention of her staff by the Orita Police in Ibadan.

In an Instagram post, Sandra Iheuwa revealed hat the police detained her staff without any invitation or legitimate reason, under the guise of simply wanting to ask some questions.

She said that despite her corporate lawyer’s attempts to resolve the situation with the Divisional Police Officer (DPO), they have faced resistance.

The businesswoman also claimed that her staff members are being sexually harassed while in custody, highlighting a severe abuse of power and violation of their human rights.

Iheuwa is calling for public support to draw attention to this injustice and to demand the immediate release of her staff.

She emphasized the need to fight against such misuse of police authority, especially in Nigeria where people are already struggling to survive.

“I’ve been quiet enough and tried to handle this privately, but the situation has escalated beyond what I can bear. The Orita Police in Ibadan have detained my staff illegally without an invitation or any crime committed. They entered my office under the pretence that the DPO merely wanted to ask some questions, and now my employees are being held without any legitimate reason.

“My corporate lawyer has reached out to the DPO, but we are facing nothing but resistance. To make matters worse, my staff members are currently being sexually harassed. This is an outright abuse of power, and it’s happening to hardworking women who are simply trying to earn a living and support their families.

“In doing this, the Orita Police have violated the fundamental human rights of my employees, particularly their rights to personal liberty and dignity of human persons as enshrined in the Nigerian Constitution. This is not just a personal issue; it’s a call for justice against intimidation and the misuse of police authority.

“I am pleading with everyone who sees this message to help me bring attention to this injustice. We need the DPO or anyone in a position to assist to step in and ensure the immediate release of my staff. The country is already hard enough; why make it harder for those who are trying to survive?

Please share this message and help us fight against this abuse of power. We need your support now more than ever,” Sandra Iheuwa wrote.

KanyiDaily recalls that Sandra Iheuwa recently finalized her divorce from her ex-husband, Steve Thompson, after two years.
