Portugal and France with once again clash today in the quarterfinal as two tournament favorites that few actually expect to win the 2024 UEFA European Football Championship.

The 2016 Euro champions, Portugal, will face the 2016 runners-up, France, in the UEFA Euro 2024 quarterfinals in Hamburg.

Today’s match is a rematch of the 2016 finals. The teams clash at the Volksparkstadion in Hamburg will be their third meeting.

It will be a touch match between France and Portugal, as the winner of the today’s contest awaits Germany or Spain in the semifinal in Munich next week.

Both teams have struggled in this tournament. France has scored only one goal, a penalty against Poland, with their other wins coming from own goals.

They reached the quarterfinals after a narrow win against Belgium, thanks to an own goal by Vertonghen.

Portugal made it to the quarters after a tense match against Slovenia, where goalkeeper Diogo Costa saved three penalties in the shootout.

France will rely on Kylian Mbappe, while Portugal will count on Bruno Fernandes, Bernardo Silva, and Cristiano Ronaldo, who is yet to score in this tournament.

France’s strong defense and Mbappe’s skills will make them a formidable opponent, though Portugal’s talented squad could pull off a win.
