KanyiDaily reported on Thursday that Abuja Area Mama, a rising crossdresser, was found dead in the Banex area of Wuse II in the Federal Capital Territory.
Videos circulating online showed Abuja Area Mama’s lifeless body lying motionless along the Katampe-Mabushi Expressway.
Reacting to his Instagram story, James Brown expressed his sorrow, noting that he never met Area Mama.
The crossdresser remarked on how people often criticize others for their sins even when they are sinners themselves.
“RIP. I didn’t get to meet him. Sinners mad at sinners because they sin differently,” he wrote.
James Brown also shared a video advising his colleagues to stay safe, saying Abuja Area Mama should have stopped night work when she was gaining popularity.
He admitted that he avoids wearing his cross-dressing outfits in public due to fear and limits them to Instagram, movies, or at home.
Brown warned that being a crossdresser can be risky in Nigeria, especially when doing night work.
He said, “All cross Dressers in Nigeria Stay safe out there, What happened to Area Mama is sad, she was supposed to reduce her night work now that she was popular.
“Me I don’t have the mind to wear my cross dressing outfits out in public and stand by the roadside, mine is for Instagram content, movie and inside my house o, it’s very risky to be doing runs as a Popular cross dresser”.
KanyiDaily recalls that the FCT Commissioner of Police, Benneth Igweh had ordered an investigation into the death of Abuja Area Mama.
