Nigerians Drags Tonto Dikeh For Supporting Tinubu Amid Nationwide Protest

Nollywood actress and politician, Tonto Dikeh has declared her support for President Bola Tinubu’s administration, favorably comparing it to previous governments.

Tonto Dikeh’s comparison comes amid the ongoing nationwide protests against bad governance, hunger, and economic hardship in President Tinubu’s administration.

Taking to her Instagram page, the actress shared an infographic showing improvements in various sectors, such as foreign reserves, minimum wage, and oil production, as of July 2024.

She emphasized that “statistics don’t lie” and stated that while everyone is working to improve the country, many Nigerians are unwilling to acknowledge any positive changes due to personal biases.

Dikeh encouraged people to accept the facts, stay safe, and make wise decisions.

She wrote, “Statistics don’t lie: everyone is working to get this country to where we want it to be. One thing about Nigerians is that if they don’t like you, nothing you do will ever be good enough for them. Let’s not deny this glaring truth. Stay safe and make wise decisions always.”

In another post, Tonto Dikeh stressed her willingness to lose followers over her political support and her commitment to positive change in Nigeria.

The actress said, “If politics will make you unfollow me, please go ahead. I have no hard feelings; I wouldn’t stop supporting to make this country a great place. One thing i wouldn’t do is stress about what you think of my opinion and of my choices or even block my comment section. God bless you all with love and light, #KINGTONTO.”

Her posts received criticism and backlash from Instagram users, who voiced their disapproval in the comments.

KanyiDaily recalls that Tonto Dikeh previously warned Nigerian youths against the nationwide protest, saying they should make smart choices.
