Photos And Videos From Onyeka Onwenu’s Burial In Lagos

Nigerian music icon, Onyeka Onwenu, fondly called the “Elegant Stallion,” has been buried in Lagos State.

KanyiDaily recalls that Onyeka Onwenu, a respected figure in Nigeria’s entertainment industry, died on July 30, 2024, at the age of 72.

She died at Reddington Hospital in Ikeja after collapsing during an event held in honor of Dr. Stella Okoli, the Managing Director of Emzor Pharmaceuticals.

On Friday, August 30, a service of songs was held in her honor at the Fountain of Life Church in Ilupeju, with many notable personalities in attendance.

Her burial took place immediately afterward at the Ebony Vaults on James George Street, Ikoyi, Lagos.

Among those present at the burial were Mr. Peter Obi, a former presidential candidate in Nigeria’s 2023 elections, as well as family members, friends, and clergy, who gathered to pay their final respects as her body was laid to rest.
