This comes just days after Mikel Obi criticized Nicolas Jackson during halftime of their previous match against Manchester City, which Chelsea lost 2-0.
Mikel had questioned Jackson’s ability as a striker, saying that Chelsea needed someone who could “hit the ball into the back of the net,” and even compared the 23-year-old Senegalese striker unfavorably to Manchester City’s Erling Haaland.
But Jackson responded in the best way possible after scoring within just 98 seconds to give Chelsea the lead in their 6-2 victory over Wolves.
His goal was the fastest by any Chelsea player since 2017 and helped secure their first win of the new season.
After the match, Jackson took to Instagram to share the stat about his quick goal and didn’t shy away from addressing Mikel’s comments.
The striker wrote: “Shut your mouth, don’t talk sh*t, we are killing ourselves for Africa.”
KanyiDaily recalls that Mikel Obi recently tackled African footballers who choose to play for European countries instead of their fatherland.
