It was gathered that the arrests took place around 10:00 am at a polling unit in Egor Local Government Area.
Three suspects—two men and one woman—were taken into custody, but some locals protested the arrests, claiming the suspects were being unfairly targeted.
On Friday, the EFCC announced it would deploy operatives to oversee the election, promising to uphold the integrity of the process.
“Our operatives have been deployed to monitor the conduct of the elections. We are committed to the attainment of electoral integrity by ensuring that voters cast their votes democratically without any form of financial inducement.
“Vote buying is a financial crime and the EFCC won’t allow it anywhere,” the agency’s spokesman Dele Oyewale said.
Meanwhile, Officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) are currently absent from the polling unit of PDP governorship candidate, Asue Ighodalo.
