KanyiDaily recalls that Folake Falana recently revealed that her family would take legal action against VeryDarkMan after he failed to apologize for comments he made about them.
On Wednesday, September 25, VeryDarkMan was given a 24-hour ultimatum by the lawyers representing Folake’s brother Falz and their father, Femi Falana.
The ultimatum demanded that VeryDarkMan apologize and retract statements he made concerning an audio conversation allegedly involving popular crossdresser, Bobrisky.
In the audio recording, Bobrisky allegedly claimed he paid ₦10 million to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) through Femi Falana to have money laundering charges dropped.
Since VeryDarkMan did not meet the 24-hour deadline, Folake Folana issued a statement saying the family would be pursuing the matter in court.
Reacting in a video shared on his Instagram page, VeryDarkMan expressed surprise that the Falanas had shifted focus from the corruption allegations he “exposed” to targeting him personally.
VeryDarkMan further defended his comments, saying he merely stated that if the allegations were proven true, he would lose respect for the Falanas.
He added that he initially expressed disbelief over the claims, questioning why Falz sent a letter demanding a retraction.
Addressing the Falanas’ legal threat, VeryDarkMan said he had no issue with being taken to court or being locked up.
He said, “Imagine Bobrisky saying that he paid N15 million to EFCC to drop the money laundering charges..that should be disturbing to all Nigerians for crying out loud.
“Imagine Bobrisky saying instead of taking him to prison, one Godfather called that they should give him an apartment outside the prison. That is disturbing and worrisome..
“Now to think some people that we thought were persecuted are outside chilling..are you people even seeing the problem inside that thing that was released?
“Instead of us joining hands to fight this agency that partook in corruption, everybody is coming for me because you said your father’s name was mentioned…was you father’s name not in the recording?
“Am I the one that put Femi Falana and Falz’s name inside the recording? The only thing I said was that If this turns out to be true, I will not have any more respect for them. And I even went on to say that I refuse to believe…what did I say there?
“The next thing Falz came with a letter to retract…Retract what? Am I the one that placed your name there? what did I say there?
“Now you are saying you want to take me to court. There is no problem. Highest I will be locked up for six months or one year.”
KanyiDaily recalls that Bobrisky expressed readiness for any investigation regarding a viral video that claimed he served a six-month jail term in a private apartment.
