American rapper Dequantes Lamar, popularly known as Rich Homie Quan, has died at the age of 33.

The Atlanta rapper, who rose to fame in 2013, reportedly passed away in Georgia on Thursday, September 5, 2026.

A statement from the Fulton County Medical Examiner said that the Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta informed them of the rapper’s death.

The statement noted that the cause of death hasn’t been determined yet, and an autopsy is scheduled for Friday.

On Thursday, 5 September 2024, the Fulton County Medical Examiner was notified by Grady Memorial Hospital of the death of Dequantes Devontay Lamar.

“An autopsy has been scheduled for Friday, 6 September 2024,” the statement reads.

Rich Homie Quan was born on October 4, 1989, in Atlanta.

He began his music career in the 2010s, creating trap music and collaborating with artists such as Gucci Mane, 2 Chainz, YG, Young Thug, Trinidad James, and others.

He was known as part of a new wave of rappers who brought raw emotion and intense passion to their music.

Quan made a significant impact in 2013 with his breakout hit “Type of Way,” which reached No. 12 on the Billboard Hot 100.

KanyiDaily had also reported how a 17-year-old American rapper, Kaeden ‘Baby K’ Holland was sentenced to 25 years in prison after pleading guilty to attempted murder and weapons charges.
