Victor Moses Signs With Luton Town On Free Transfer

Luton Town have signed former Chelsea wing-back, Victor Moses on a free transfer.

The 33-year-old, who previously played for Nigeria, joined Luton Town after leaving Spartak Moscow earlier this summer, where he spent nearly four years, after joining the Russian club on loan from Chelsea in 2020.

Victor Moses began his professional career with Crystal Palace and later moved to Wigan Athletic in 2010 when they were in the Premier League.

He recently featured for Luton in a closed-door match last week.

Luton manager, Rob Edwards expressed excitement about the signing, stating, “We think he’s someone who can provide some really good competition for us.

Luton Town has had a tough start to the season, securing only one point from four Championship games after being relegated from the Premier League in May.

They face Millwall on Saturday, their first match since the international break.

Details of Moses’ contract length have not been made public.

Moses, who has played under various managers across different leagues, is known for his tactical versatility.

During his time at Chelsea, he won the Premier League, Europa League, and FA Cup, though his nine-year stint at Stamford Bridge included several loan spells, including stints at Liverpool, West Ham, Fenerbahce, and Inter Milan.

Speaking about his move, Moses said, “I had a few offers from Europe, but I said to my agent that I set my mind on staying over here, and here we are. I’m very pleased and honoured to be at this club and I just can’t wait to get going.

“I spoke to Rob before I came, I spoke to the directors and they told me the plan and the history of the club, and I just want to be part of the success.

“I want to come here and enjoy my football, work hard for the club and for the team, and get back to where we belong in the Premier League.”

Moses joins a Luton side struggling in the Championship, sitting near the bottom of the table without a win since their relegation from the top flight last season.

KanyiDaily recalls that in 2022, Spartak Moscow raised alarm after Victor Moses refused to report to the Russian club in weeks.
