Last Friday, Speed Darlington was arrested in Lagos and taken to Abuja due to a complaint filed by Burna Boy.
While the details of the complaint remain unclear, it is thought to stem from several videos in which Speed Darlington spoke negatively about Burna Boy.
In September, Darlington even questioned Burna Boy’s sexuality, linking it to the singer’s close relationship with troubled U.S. rapper, Diddy.
Following the arrest, many Nigerians condemned Burna Boy, accusing him of using his influence to silence Speed Darlington, with some labeling him an oppressor.
In a post on his Instagram page, BabaRex questioned whether it was acceptable for Speed Darlington to insult Burna Boy without facing any consequences.
He expressed his thoughts by saying, “This life sha. Person go insult person for social media. People go laugh and comment. When d person take action. Dem go turn am against d person wen collect insult. Dis burna boy matter. So it was okay fr akpi to disrespect him?”
Meanwhile, Speed Darlington was released on Tuesday night after spending fice days in police custody over his comments against Burna Boy.
