Veteran Nollywood actor, Abdulsalam Sanyaolu, popularly known as Charles Olumo or “Agbako,” has died at the age of 101.

The news was confirmed by Bolaji Amusan, popularly called Mr. Latin, who serves as the President of the Theatre Arts and Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN).

He shared the announcement in an Instagram post, noting that details for Agbako’s burial will be provided soon.

“TAMPAN announces the passing of Pa Charles Olumo Sanyaolu, fondly known as AGBAKO. Details of the burial arrangements will be shared at a later time. Good night father, 25/02/1923 to 31/10/2024,” he wrote.

Born on February 25, 1923, Agbako became a beloved figure in the Yoruba film industry, known for his powerful on-screen presence and skillful portrayal of intense roles.

He rose to fame playing fearless characters like villains, warriors, and chiefs, earning him a lasting reputation in the industry.

This comes barely two weeks after another veteran actor Ayobami Olabiyi, also known as Bobo B, passed away.
