Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs To Remain In Prison As Sex Trafficking Trial Set For May 2025

American Music mogul, Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs will remain in jail as his sex trafficking trial is set to begin on May 5, 2025.

KanyiDaily had reported how Diddy was arrested less than a month ago at a New York City hotel on charges including racketeering, sex trafficking, and transporting individuals for prostitution.

Diddy appeared before a judge on Thursday, October 10 for a status hearing, where Judge Arun Subramanian, who recently took over the case, confirmed the trial date.

Combs’ legal team filed a new appeal on October 9, seeking his release on bail from the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, New York.

The lawyers argued that fears of Diddy intimidating witnesses were “baseless” and that previous bail denials were based on “speculation,” not evidence.

His lawyers, Alexandra Shapiro and Jason Driscoll, emphasized that Combs voluntarily traveled to New York to face charges and had offered strict monitoring conditions, including restrictions on phone and internet use, to ensure he wouldn’t pose a risk.

The appeal claimed, “He took extraordinary steps to demonstrate that he intended to face and contest the charges, not flee.”

“He presented a bail package that would plainly stop him from posing a danger to anyone or contacting any witnesses.”

Despite this, Judge Arun Subramanian ruled that Diddy will remain in custody for now.

Diddy’s lawyer, Marc Agnifilo also raised concerns about alleged improper leaks from federal agents related to the case.

He urged the judge to prevent a 2016 video showing Combs allegedly assaulting his former girlfriend, Cassie Ventura, from being admitted as evidence in the trial.

However, Prosecutor Emily Johnson dismissed Agnifilo’s claims, calling them unfounded.

Johnson, an assistant U.S. attorney, argued that the defense was merely attempting to block a crucial piece of evidence.

Not a single one of those alleged leaks are from members of the prosecution team,” she asserted, defending the integrity of the case.

According to the federal indictment following his arrest on September 16, Combs is accused of organizing sexual events called “Freak Offs” that lasted for hours or days.

Prosecutors alleged that the 54-year-old rapper directed, recorded, and participated in these events, while also supplying controlled substances to ensure victims’ compliance.

They also claimed he used force, threats, and coercion to make victims engage in prolonged sexual acts with male sex workers.

Diddy has pleaded not guilty to all charges and maintains his innocence.

He will stay in jail in Brooklyn until his trial begins in May 2025.

KanyiDaily recalls that attorney Tony Buzbee from Texas recently announced that he is representing 120 people accusing Diddy of misconduct over the past 20 years.
