VeryDarkMan, who previously shared videos of the minors in court, revealed that the boys, aged between 11 and 15, have been in a police cell for 93 days, having been arrested for simply displaying the Russian flag.
The activist highlighted the harsh conditions these boys face, emphasizing their inability to meet the strict bail requirements, which he called heartless and unfair.
The Police Force Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi, contested the claims, stating that the minors were involved in the “End Bad Governance” protest and that none were under 13 years old.
Adejobi disclosed that there were 72 individuals detained, comprising both minors and adults, suggesting that their arrest was justified.
On Sunday, November 3, VeryDarkMan took to Instagram, sharing his distress over the situation of the boys, who he says are malnourished and forgotten in detention.
Rejecting the Police PRO’s claims about the age of the detainees, the activist confidently stated that he had been in a cell with them and knows they are minors.
He expressed his anger over the boys’ ongoing detention and criticized the government for its lack of response, threatening to take action if the situation doesn’t change quickly.
The activist also announced that if Tinubu’s government does not release the boys by Tuesday, he will start a GoFundMe campaign to gather funds for their bail.
VDM, who has a following of 1.8 million, said he believes that even small donations of N100 can make a significant difference in helping to free the children.
VeryDarkMan passionately urged his supporters to back this urgent cause, insisting that he cannot remain passive while these innocent kids continue to suffer.
He wrote: “!.f by Tuesday the tinubu government doesn’t release those minors who they have d3ta!ned I will have to do this and yes they will be released 💪maybe it was God’s plan that I was @rrzted to show me the !nhvman3 treatment of minors by the tinubu government…till Tuesday @officialasiwajubat.”
