Italian Serie A club, Udinese has confirmed that Nigerian goalkeeper, Maduka Okoye has successfully undergone surgery.
The Super Eagles goalkeeper suffered a wrist injury during a league match against Genoa last week.
Maduka Okoye’s surgery was performed by Dr. Loris Pegoli at the La Madonnina clinic in Milan, as stated by the club.
The 24-year-old will now begin his rehabilitation process and is expected to be out of action for several weeks.
Okoye became Udinese’s first-choice goalkeeper during the latter half of last season and has already made 14 league appearances for the team this season.
KanyiDaily recalls that Maduka Okoye had revealed why he decided to represent Nigeria professionally instead of Germany, the country of his birth.
