In a statement released on Wednesday, Hisbah Commander-General Dr. Aminu Usman announced that nightclub operators must cease activities to prevent immoral behavior, safeguard community values, and address security concerns.
He warned that anyone defying the order would face strict consequences, adding that security agencies have been directed to ensure full compliance.
“The board warned that violators would face strict penalties. Security agencies have been instructed to ensure full compliance with the order.
“We are committed to building a morally upright society and ensuring peace and security in Katsina State,” Usman said.
He also confirmed that the board has informed relevant security agencies, including the state’s Commissioner for Internal Security, to oversee the enforcement of the ban.
According to Usman, this decision aligns with Hisbah’s broader mission to ensure that residents adhere to religious and ethical principles in their daily lives.
“This move aligns with Hisbah’s broader efforts to ensure residents continue their lives in line with religious and moral standards,” he stated.
KanyiDaily recalls that Kano State Hisbah also intensified its crackdown on betting shops following a Supreme Court ruling that clarified the regulation of gambling as a state-level responsibility.
