Beyond this achievement, Major Eragbai Evborokhai also holds the top position for non-commissioned officers (NCOs) in the U.S. Army, making him a key figure in addressing the needs and concerns of soldiers at every rank, from enlisted personnel to high-ranking officers.
As a senior advisor to division commanders, he plays a crucial role in ensuring smooth communication and tackling important issues within the Army.
Born in Nigeria, Evborokhai joined the U.S. Army in 2001, starting his military career in Baltimore, Maryland. He underwent infantry training at Fort Benning, Georgia, before taking on various leadership roles over the years.
Evborokhai’s experience includes serving as a Rifleman, Fire Team Leader, Squad Leader, Drill Sergeant, Platoon Sergeant, and Operations Sergeant Major.
His service has taken him to multiple Army divisions across the U.S. and overseas, including the 25th Infantry Division in Hawaii, the 2nd Battalion 6th Infantry Regiment in Germany, and the 1st Battalion 77th Armor Regiment in Oklahoma.
He has also served in Texas, Colorado, and other locations, currently holding the role of Command Sergeant Major for the 4th Battalion 9th Infantry Regiment “Manchu” at Fort Carson, Colorado.
Evborokhai’s military education is extensive, with training that includes the Warrior Leader Course, Senior Leader Course, Sergeants Major Academy, and Ranger School.
He has also completed foreign military courses in Malaysia and Australia. Academically, he holds a Bachelor’s degree in Homeland Security from the University of Maryland Global Campus and another in Workforce and Leadership Development from the Command and General Staff College.
Throughout his career, he has earned numerous awards, including two Meritorious Service Medals, five Army Commendation Medals, and six Army Achievement Medals.
CSM Eragbai Evborokhai is also a recipient of the Valorous Unit Award, the Combat Infantryman’s Badge, and a distinguished member of the Order of Saint q8, among other honors.
