London-based rapper, Stefflon Don has defended his boyfriend, Burna Boy, after Nigerians called him out over his silence on the call for the scrapping of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS).
KanyiDaily had reported that there is an ongoing #EndSARS protest across the country against the SARS tactical unit of the Nigerian Police Force over brutality, illegal arrest, extortion, extra-judicial killings, among others.
However, Nigerians are not happy that the self-acclaimed African Giant, Burna Boy, has not said anything on the ongoing #EndSARS protest, when other celebrities were either tweeting about it on social media or on the street joined by their numerous fans to voice out their demand from the government.
Reacting to the backlash Burna Boy has been getting over his silence on the protest, Stefflon Don expressed disgust over how people can be so evil to kill and brutalize their own.
“I really do not get how ppl can be so Evil, especially against their own. This shit makes me so sad💔#EndSARS #FuckTheSystem #LoveYourPeople,” she wrote.
When asked about Burna Boy’s whereabouts as he has refused to lend a voice to the issue, the rapper assured Nigerians that Burna Boy is actually doing something ‘behind the scene’ about the situation. She added that he is actually helping out a lot more than sending tweets on social media.
“He is doing something that will help out allot more than just sending out tweet, I promise. ❤️🙏🏾 #HeIsWorking #GodKnows #EndSARS #EndPoliceBrutality,” she tweeted.
“It’s easy to tweet and say some stuff that the ppl want to hear but thats not all that really matters what really matters is what is going on behind the scenes and what someone is actually “DOING” to help make the changes we need. Big up everyone doing their part.❤️”
