Arsenal football player, Mesut Özil, has declared support for the ongoing protest across Nigeria for the scrapping of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS).
KanyiDaily had reported that there is an ongoing #EndSARS protest across the country against the SARS tactical unit of the Nigerian Police Force over brutality, illegal arrest, extortion, extra-judicial killings, among others.
Taking to his Twitter page on Sunday, the German footballer declared support for the agitation saying:
“Horrible to hear what’s been going on in Nigeria. Let’s make this a trending topic everywhere #EndSARS – My thoughts go out to everyone who has been affected. #EndPoliceBrutality.”

Meanwhile, a media aide to Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, Salihu Tanko Yakasai has slammed President Muhammadu Buhari for allegedly showing “zero empathy” to the plight of Nigerians whenever the need arose.
Yakasai was reacting to the ongoing nationwide #EndSARS protest by Nigerians, a day after the police allegedly shot a young man, Jimoh Isiaq, during the protest in Oyo State.
