Five female secondary school students seen in a viral video smoking shisha have been suspended and Lagos State Government has also ordered for their rehabilitation.

KanyiDaily had published the video where the young girls were seen in their school uniforms sitting in a room, enjoying themselves with some music as they smoke “shisha”.

Lagos state government, through the Ministry of Education and Ministry of Youth and Social Development, identified the female pupils as students of Oreyo Senior Grammar School, Igbogbo, Ikorodu area of the state.

It was gathered that the five identified students were later suspended by the school authorities while the state government has ordered for their rehabilitation with immediate effect.

The Special Adviser to the Governor on Education, Tokunbo Wahab, who confirmed the development, said “appropriate steps are been taken to address the issue with the aim of preventing future occurrence in the state.”

“The appropriate ministry is already intervening. You see why the role of parents is so critical. We can’t leave everything to the government and school. This is heart wrenching.”

 

KanyiDaily had also published another video showing a secondary school female student engaging her teacher in a very serious fight in the presence of the entire students.
