Former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode has slammed a controversial Islamic cleric, Sheikh Ahmad Gumi over his recent statement that “declaring bandits as terrorists will come with a prize.”
KanyiDaily recalls that Sheikh Gumi had warned that Nigeria would stop existing as a sovereign and united entity if President Muhammadu Buhari declare bandits as terrorists.
The cleric admitted that the carnage wreaked by the bandits in Nigeria amounted to terrorism, but warned that labeling them as such will consume the entire country.
Reacting on his Twitter page, Fani Kayode said Sheikh Gumi is worst than the late Boko Haram leader, Abubakar Shekau, and late ISWAP leader, Al-Barnawi.
The former minister recalled that the cleric’s father had once declared that Christians should not be allowed to rule the country.
Fani-Kayode who believes that Gumi is currently following the steps of his father, described him as “venomous snake and a wolf in sheep’s clothing”.
The ex-minister said, “Sheik Ahmad Gumi, the Rasputin of Arewa, whose father once said a Christian must not rule Nigeria and who himself said the FG must not declare the killer bandits as terrorists is worse than Abubakar Shekau & Al Barnawi. He is a venomous snake and a wolf in sheep’s clothing”.
KanyiDaily recalls that Sheikh Gumi had described Fani-Kayode as the ‘Judas of Oduduwa’ after the former minister defected from the PDP to the ruling APC.
