A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Joe Igbokwe has reacted to the decision of the party’s presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, to field a Muslim-Muslim ticket for the 2023 presidential election.
Joe Igbokwe Backs Tinubu’s Muslim Running Mate
KanyiDaily recalls that APC presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu had picked his fellow Muslim, Kashim Shettima, a former Borno State Governor, as his running mate for the 2023 presidential election.
The APC presidential candidate said the former Borno governor was selected because he is “competent, capable, reliable and able to be picked as a running mate”.
Tinubu also noted that his decision was “in the spirit of 1993” when Nigerians “embraced Chief MKO Abiola and a fellow Muslim running mate”, but the recent development has elicited mixed reactions.
Reacting to the backlash trailing the Muslim-Muslim ticket, Igbokwe said Tinubu should be considered a Christian because of his wife, Oluremi, who is a pastor with the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG).
Taking to his Facebook page, he wrote: “Do you know that Asiwaju’s wife is a pastor in Redeemed Christian Church of God? Are husband and wife not one again according to the Holy Book”?
Meanwhile, the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has rejected the Muslim-Muslim ticket, saying the APC has no regard for the diversity of the country.
We all know that Tinubu presidential ambition is the continuetion of Buhari’s regime, that have nothing to offer to Nigeria but to Islamize Nigeria. And that is the agenda of Muslim Muslim ticket by Tinubu.
