I Wasn't Paid After Acting With Mercy Johnson And Destiny Etiko - Actress Boma Dokubo [Video]

The actress, who disclosed this during a quick chat with media personality, Daddy Freeze, lamented the plight of being an upcoming actor in the Nigerian movie industry.

Dokubo, who studied theatre arts at the university, said she is struggling hard to survive and to make a name for herself because the movie industry is crowded.

She revealed that despite working with top actors like Mercy Johnson and Destiny Etiko, she hasn’t earned much because producers either don’t pay, or they pay less.

The movie star advised her fellow upcoming actors/actresses to have side hustles as the industry won’t favor them financially, and that is what has been working for her.

“I would say it is challenging when it comes to the financial aspect. You need to have a side hustle because the queue in the industry is quite much,” she said.

“I acted with Mercy Johnson in ‘Cr@zy Nurse’, where I played the role of a village girl who was sick and went to Mercy Johnson’s hospital for treatment. I wasn’t paid in that movie”.

Despite how challenging making a living from acting has been, Dokubo disclosed that she is passionate about the job, hence the reason she keeps showing up on different movie sets.

The actress also said she hopes her passion finally pays off.
