ISWAP Commander, 41 Other Terrorists Killed After Troops Stormed Their Hideout
A total of 41 terrorists, including a commander, Abu Zahra have been killed after troops from Operation Hadin Kai, in collaboration with the Civilian Joint Task Force, stormed the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) hideout in Dikwa Local Government Area of Borno State.
This was disclosed by a counter-insurgency expert in the Lake Chad region, Zagazola Makama on Sunday on his official Twitter handle.
Makama said while the terrorists were killed, others fled for their lives.
According to him, the troops eliminated the terrorists in a silent intelligence-led midnight offensive coordinated by Maj. Gen. Shaibu Waidi, the General Officer Commanding the 7 Division and Commander of Sector 1, in the villages of Mukdolo, GUPDILO, and Bone, located between Dikwa, Ngala, and Mafa.
The security expert also shared photos from the offensive by the military.
In other news, Kanyi Daily reported that former Chief of General Staff (CGS), Lt General Oladipo Diya is dead.
Oladipo Diya, who was CGS under the late Head of State, General Sani Abacha died in the early hours of Sunday.
Diya’s death was announced in a statement by his son, Prince Oyesinmilola Diya, on Sunday morning.
