Borno State House Assembly member-elect for Chibok Local Government Area, Dr. Nuhu Clark, has passed away.
It was gathered that Nuhu Clark, a former Commissioner for Poverty Alleviation in Borno, died on Tuesday evening in India after a protracted illness.
A family source, who confirmed the news to Daily Trust, said the Borno Assembly member-elect had been hospitalized for months before he died, 23 days after the election was conducted.
“With total submission to the will of God, I announce to the House the death of Hon Dr. Nuhu Clark, an elder brother to our Chairperson Ladi Clark (Mrs). The sad event occurred today in India, where he was receiving treatment,” the source said.
Nuhu Clark was the former commissioner for poverty alleviation in Borno. He was said to have resigned from his position as the commissioner to contest for the Chibok constituency under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
KanyiDaily had also reported that a member representing the Ideato North state constituency, at the Imo House of Assembly, Arthur Egwim is dead.
