She stated she stumbled into acting while studying for her diploma in 1997 and had little trouble breaking into the industry.
Jennifer stated to media personality Chude Jideonwo:
“I didn’t come out looking for movies; I just happened to stumble into it [the movie industry].”
“Princess Babiana, a friend of mine… Growing up, my father was really rigid. We rarely went outside, so we had our playtime indoors. He dislikes guests. So we only go out when daddy is away.
“He prefers that we be friends with people he knows their parents, so he knows you’ll feel at ease when you go there.” So my father and her father were pals. And she came to see me while I was at [movie] rehearsals. So I told myself that because it was she and my father was out of town, I could go. As a result, I followed her.”
Kanyidaily earlier reported how Eliogu stated that it was tough for her to persuade her father that she wanted to pursue acting as a career.
“He was challenging. He didn’t want to hear it at all. I was already pursuing a diploma at UniJos. My father always wished for me to become a lawyer. He thought I was going to be a great lawyer. It caused a slew of issues, with my mother bearing the brunt of them. ‘Is this really what you want to do?’ he kept asking. You will not forgive yourself if something goes wrong.’ ‘I’m convinced this is what I really want to do,’ I thought.
It took an extremely long time. I no longer wanted to be his girl. And guess what? I quit going to school. “I’m not going to pay your school fees,” he said.
