Nicki Minaj was hauled into court for allegedly refusing to pay for borrowed designer jewelry that she reportedly damaged.
The rapper is being sued by a West Hollywood jeweler who claims to have loaned the rapper some jewelry. According to the jeweler, some of the pieces were returned damaged.
According to paperwork acquired by TMZ, Nicki’s stylist Brett Alan Nelson signed a contract with Roseark jewelry business, in which Roseark agreed to lend Nicki jewelry for a public appearance.
According to the business, the contract required Brett to return the bling within a week and pay for any damages the jewelry would sustain while under his supervision.
It was claimed that Nicki’s stylist failed to return 66 pieces of jewelry by the agreed-upon deadline, and that when Brett eventually paid for the bling, a pair of earrings and a leaf ring were damaged.

However, sources close to Nicki have stated that everything was returned on time and that the store only complained about a missing stone after items had been in the jeweler’s custody for some time.
The jewelry store claims it issued Brett invoices for the damage, which totaled $26,239.50 plus interest. Roseark claims they have not been paid, despite repeated attempts to collect.
Roseark is suing Nicki and her stylist for the money, despite the fact that Nikki appears to have had no direct dealings with the jeweler.
Jordan Siev, Nicki’s attorney, responded to the case by saying:
“No evidence has been presented to us that any of the jewelry at issue was damaged by Nicki.” This action looks to be nothing more than a routine insurance claim filed by the jeweler in order to get publicity and obtain a reimbursement to which it is not entitled. We will fiercely defend the complaint.”
