President Bola Tinubu has sworn in Senator George Akume as the new Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF).
The swearing-in ceremony was attended by various dignitaries, including current and former governors on Wednesday morning at approximately 11:16 am in the council chambers of the presidential villa in Abuja.
During the ceremony, George Akume took the oath of allegiance and the oath of office, signifying his commitment to the role and responsibilities of the SGF.
Notable individuals present at the brief ceremony included Vice-President Kashim Shettima, Senate President Ahmed Lawan, Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara state, and Folashade Yemi-Esan, the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation.
Regina Akume, the wife of the newly appointed SGF, was also in attendance to support her husband during this important milestone in his career.
The ceremony marked the official beginning of George Akume’s tenure as the Secretary to the Government of the Federation under President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
