The Delta State Police Command says it has arrested a 42-year-old pastor, Marvelous Ebangwe who specialises in trafficking young girls to African countries.
The Commissioner of Police in the state, Wale Abass disclosed this in a statement posted on the command’s Twitter handle.
The statement said the DPO Ekpan police station on June 30th, received a complaint that two young ladies went missing after they went to a church named, Fire Gospel Mission located at No. 1 Tare Alegbo Street, Effurun Ovwie LGA for a church programme.
According to the statement, the DPO swung into action and arrested Marvelous Ebangwe.
“Investigation revealed that the suspect specializes in trafficking young girls to African countries,” the statement reads.
It added that the suspect stated that the victims are presently in Senegal, noting that the investigation is ongoing.
