Nigerian singer, Davido has bowed to pressure following criticism from the Muslim community by removing the music video released by his signee, Logos Olori.
On Friday morning, Davido took to his social media pages and shared the music video of Logos Olori’s latest track titled, “Jaye Lo” as part of his promotional efforts for his music artist.
In the video, Logos Olori could be seen on top of a building, singing and making prayer gestures while Muslims were performing prayers similar to Islamic practices before breaking into dance and reciting some Quranic verses.
The video sparked controversy on social media with some Nigerian Muslim accusing Davido of disrespecting Islamic beliefs and rituals.
The Muslims, particularly in the North, found the video offensive and demanded that the music star take it down and apologize for his actions.
After facing several days of online criticism, a visit to Davido’s Twitter page on Sunday confirmed that he has removed the video as per the request of some Muslim individuals.
However, the singer has not issued an apology to Muslim for the controversy surrounding the music video.
KanyiDaily recalls that Davido had previously reacted to the backlast trailing the music video by quoting the lyrics of his song “Feel” to emphasize his desire to avoid getting into a fight.
