Nigerian journalist, Ikharo Attah has taken to social media to celebrate his wife, Magdalene, with heartwarming words on the occasion of her birthday.

In a post via his Facebook page, Ikharo Attah, who currently serves as the Senior Special Assistant on Monitoring, Inspection, and Enforcement to the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, expressed his deep admiration for his wife’s unwavering love and support.

The journalist referred to Magdalene as the “lover of my poverty,” recalling how she stood by him during challenging times when he lacked material possessions and financial stability.

According to him, during the seven years they dated before getting married, Magdalene never demanded anything from him, and he, in turn, was unable to take her out due to financial constraints.

Ikharo shared an endearing anecdote about proposing to Magdalene with a N20 silver-coated ring purchased from a hawker, which eventually faded and rusted.

He revealed that she continued to wear the ring with pride and even joined him in his small single-room apartment, transforming it into a comfortable and loving home.

The journalist said that her action left him deeply moved by her emotional audacity and unwavering love throughout their 18 years of marriage.

The FCT Minister expressed his gratitude to Magdalene for being a rare and exceptional companion, adding that he and their children are celebrating her with a very special Happy Birthday.

*The N20 silver coated ring I managed to purchase from a hawker to engage you fades in less than a week and you still kept wearing it in its semi-rusted state.
