The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) says it has rearrested the Chief Executive Officer of Zoe New Dawn Nigeria Limited, Stephen Acheme Akpa for alleged Five Hundred Million Naira (N500, 000,000) land fraud.
A statement issued on Monday by the spokesman of the EFCC, Wilson Uwujaren said Akpa was first arrested by the anti-graft agency on December 2, 2022, at his office in the Idu axis of Abuja.
The arrest, he said, followed a petition alleging that the suspect obtained the sum of N 500, 000, 000 under false pretence.
“He was to be arraigned on a five-count charge when he jumped the administrative bail offered by the Commission,” the statement reads.
“All efforts to apprehend proved futile until August 9, 2023, when he was re-arrested.”
The EFCC image maker said he will soon be arraigned in court.
In other news, Kanyi Daily reported that Nigerians on social media giant, X (formally known as Twitter) have reacted to the statement made by Nyesom Wike, the newly sworn-in Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
Wike upon his assumption of office on Monday, vowed to demolish with immediate effect, illegal structures in the capital city.
“All those who are distorting the master plan of Abuja, too bad, too bad. If you know you have built where you are not supposed to build, it will down. Be you an ambassador if you know you have developed where you are not supposed to develop your house must go down,” Wike said during a press conference in his office in Abuja.
