Buju BNXN Reveals Why He And Burna Boy Are Different From Other Nigerian Musicians [Video]

KanyiDaily recalls that during a recent interview, Burna Boy claimed that Afrobeats lacks depth and substance, stressing that the genre is primarily centered around creating a lively and enjoyable atmosphere.

Burna Boy pointed out that many Nigerian and African artists lack genuine life experiences, which, in his opinion, contributes to the shallowness of the Afrobeats genre.

Reacting to the outrage trailing Burna Boy’s comment in a video, Buju BNXN agreed with the Grammy award-winning singer, stressing that they are different because their songs don’t lack proper substance.

He said, ’You see why I connect with Burna is because everything is so different. When I listen to him and I listen to somebody else, you can tell he is doing his own thing.

“It’s the same thing when you listen to me, except you want to be whining yourself. It is only a few of us that are doing this thing with proper substance and having something to say in it.”
