The Headies Awards organizers failed to declare winners in 13 categories at the 16th edition of the award event on Sunday at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre in Atlanta, USA.
Attendees and watchers around the world were taken aback when co-host Osas Ighodaro announced midway through the event that the ceremony had come to a close, with roughly 13 categories still to be presented.
It was observed that no female award categories were awarded before the event was abruptly terminated at approximately 2:30 a.m. Nigerian time.
The following categories are yet to be announced: Best Female Artiste, Best Recording of the Year, Songwriter of the Year, Best R&B Single, Best Vocal Performance (Female), Headies Viewers’ Choice, and Best East African Artist of the Year.
